Privacy Policy

Effective August 17, 2026. This Policy explains how Sweet as a Simile LLC handles personal information through carlamcherry.com.

1. Scope and who we are

This Privacy Policy describes how Sweet as a Simile LLC, located in Bronx, New York 10475 (“Sweet as a Simile,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information when you visit carlamcherry.com, place an order, join the newsletter, submit the contact form, or otherwise communicate with us.

This Policy applies to information handled through our Site. It does not control the independent privacy practices of a bookseller, publisher, marketplace, social network, video platform, or other third-party site you choose to visit.

2. Information we collect

Contact and identity information. We may collect your name, email address, phone number, billing address, shipping address, and other information you provide when you contact us or place an order.

Order and transaction information. We may collect the products, variants, quantities, prices, discounts, taxes, shipping method, order status, tracking information, and customer-service history associated with a purchase. Stripe processes your payment details. We receive payment status and transaction identifiers but do not store your full card number on the Site.

Communications and newsletter information. We collect the contents of contact-form messages, your email address and subscription status, campaign delivery or unsubscribe information, and other communications you send to us.

Device, usage, and security information. Our Site and service providers may process your IP address or a privacy-preserving hash of it, browser and device type, user agent, referring or requested page, date and time, cookie-consent choices, and technical logs used to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and prevent abuse of the Site.

3. How we collect information

We collect information directly from you when you place an order, subscribe, complete a form, or communicate with us; automatically from your browser or device when you use the Site; and from service providers that support payments, fulfillment, delivery, email, hosting, content management, security, and customer support.

4. How we use information

We use personal information to provide and improve the Site; process payments; produce, fulfill, ship, track, and support orders; send confirmations and service messages; respond to questions; manage newsletter subscriptions and campaigns; prevent fraud, spam, and security incidents; troubleshoot technical problems; maintain business and tax records; enforce our terms; comply with law; and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

We send promotional newsletters when you choose to subscribe or when another lawful basis permits. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in a marketing email. Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent necessary transactional or service messages about an order or request.

5. How we disclose information

We disclose personal information only as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this Policy. Recipients may include Stripe for payment and fraud prevention; Printful and shipping carriers for production, fulfillment, delivery, returns, and support; Resend for email delivery and subscription management; Sanity for content, order, subscription, and submission records; Vercel for website hosting and technical logs; and De MG Solutions for authorized website administration, integration management, email relay, security, and technical support.

We may also disclose information to professional advisers, insurers, auditors, government authorities, courts, or other parties when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate fraud or abuse, or complete a merger, financing, reorganization, sale, or transfer of all or part of the business. When feasible, service providers receive only the information needed to perform their services.

We do not sell personal information for money. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or use it for targeted advertising. If our practices change, we will update this Policy and provide any choices required by law before using information in that way.

6. Cookies, local storage, and tracking choices

The Site uses essential browser storage for functions such as maintaining your cart, remembering cookie preferences, security, and reliable operation. Your cookie-consent selection may be stored in a cookie and local storage for up to 180 days so the Site can remember it.

The Site’s Cookie choices control preference, analytics, and marketing categories. At the effective date of this Policy, we do not operate nonessential analytics or marketing trackers on the Site. You can accept or reject nonessential categories and reopen Cookie choices from the Site footer. Clearing browser storage may reset your selection.

Because we do not currently sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising and do not operate third-party cross-site advertising trackers, the Site does not respond separately to browser “Do Not Track” signals. We will honor legally recognized opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control, when they apply to a practice covered by law.

7. Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected and for legitimate business, tax, accounting, fulfillment, warranty, dispute-resolution, security, and legal obligations. Retention periods vary by record type and applicable law.

For example, order and transaction records may be retained for accounting, tax, fraud-prevention, and warranty purposes; newsletter information is retained while you are subscribed and, where needed, on a suppression list after you opt out; contact messages are retained while we respond and for a reasonable follow-up period; and technical or security logs are retained for a limited period appropriate to their purpose. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer reasonably needed, unless law requires or permits continued retention.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. These measures include restricted administrative access, server-side handling of integration credentials, encrypted connections, payment processing by Stripe, and controls intended to reduce spam and abuse.

No website, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Please use care when sending sensitive information by email or through an online form, and contact us if you believe your information or an order may have been compromised.

9. Your privacy rights and choices

Depending on where you live and subject to legal exceptions, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a portable copy of certain personal information; to object to or restrict certain processing; or to withdraw consent for future processing. You may also opt out of marketing at any time.

The Site does not currently offer customer accounts, so there is no online profile page for reviewing or changing stored information. To submit a privacy request, email cmcmagicone@gmail.com or use carlamcherry.com/contact. Describe your request and the email address associated with your interaction. We may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify your identity and authority before acting. An authorized agent may submit a request where applicable law permits, subject to verification.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right. If we deny a request, you may have the right to appeal or contact your state privacy regulator, depending on the law that applies.

10. Children’s privacy

The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from a child under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child under 13 provided personal information through the Site, contact us so we can investigate and delete it as appropriate.

11. Processing in the United States

Sweet as a Simile LLC and many of our service providers operate in the United States. If you access the Site from another country, your information may be processed in the United States or another jurisdiction where a service provider operates. Privacy laws in those locations may differ from those where you live.

12. Third-party sites and services

Links to third-party booksellers, publishers, marketplaces, social networks, video platforms, or other sites are provided for convenience. Those parties may collect information directly from you under their own privacy policies. Review a third party’s privacy practices before providing information or completing a purchase on its site.

13. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy as our services, providers, or legal obligations change. We will post the revised Policy on this page, update the effective date, and provide additional or more prominent notice when required. Material changes apply prospectively unless applicable law permits otherwise.
